A new trailer has been released for the second season of Freeform’s dramatic thriller, Cruel summer. The anthology’s new starring cast includes Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada, Sean BlakemoreAND Paul Adelstein.
Elle Triedman is the new showrunner for the second season.
Season 1 took place over three summers in the 1990s, as a popular and beautiful teenager goes missing, and a seemingly unrelated girl transforms from a sweet, awkward anomaly into the most popular girl in town, eventually becoming the most despised of America.
The synopsis for season 2 reads:
“Set in an idyllic seaside town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding the year 2000, the season unfolds as it follows the initial friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan’s best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed and the mystery that would have an impact on all their lives in the future. “
The first season of this show really surprised me! It has many twists and turns and kept me guessing till the very end. The upcoming season looks like it will also tell a great and interesting story.
