STAR WARS: INQUISITOR: RISE OF THE RED BLADE Story details revealed

There is something new Star Wars forthcoming novel titled Star Wars: Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Bladeand Lucasfilm Publishing and Random House Worlds have revealed the first details of the story thanks to a synopsis that has been shared.

The book was announced last year at New York Comic Con, it was written by Delilah S. Dawson, and the story follows an inquisitor named Iskat, who was trained by Darth Vader to hunt down Jedi. Iskat was a Jedi who had always questioned the orthodoxy of the Jedi Order and found freedom with the Order’s fall. Here is the synopsis:

Padawan Iskat Akaris has dedicated her life to traveling the galaxy alongside her master, learning the ways of the Force to become a good Jedi. Despite Iskat’s dedication, peace and control have remained elusive, and with each setback, he feels his fellow Jedi grow increasingly distrustful of him. Already uncertain about her future in the Jedi Order, Iskat faces tragedy when her master is killed and the Clone Wars engulf the galaxy in chaos.

Now that she’s a frontline general contributing to that chaos, she’s often reminded: Trust your training. Trust in the wisdom of the Council. Trust in the Force. However, as shadows of doubt take hold, Iskat begins to ask questions no Jedi should ask: questions about her own unknown past. He questions that Jedi Masters would consider dangerous.

As the years pass and the war continues, Iskat’s faith in the Jedi wanes. If she were given more freedom, she is certain she could do more to protect the galaxy. If they trusted her with more knowledge, she could finally drive away the shadows that have begun to consume her. When the Jedi Order finally falls, Iskat seizes the opportunity to forge her own path. She embraces the salvation of the Order 66.

As an Inquisitor, Iskat finds the freedom she’s always longed for: to question, to will. And with every stroke of her red blade, Iskat gets closer to reclaiming her new destiny in the Force, whatever the cost.”

Sounds like a pretty cool character to follow in the Star Wars universe! Star Wars: Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade will hit stores on July 18. Dawson’s other Star Wars novels include Fasma AND Edge of the Galaxy: Black Spire.
