It seems that Krypto the Superdog will appear in the writer and director James Gunn’S Superman: Legacy movie. The confirmation came from an interview with the Toronto Sun in which he joked about it Chris Pratt he could be playing the Superdog in the upcoming film.
Pratt responded on the spot, saying, “Looks like there’s going to be a character called Krypto in Superman — breaking news,” Gunn confirmed, “It’s a scoop, I guess.”
So, it looks like we’ll see Krypto make its live-action debut Superman: Legacy! I can’t say I’m surprised because Gunn seems to enjoy playing with the animal characters in his film projects. It makes sense that he threw Krypto into the mix.
The film will introduce a new version of Superman and tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
Gunn has also previously confirmed that Jimmy Olsen will appear in the film. As of right now, Gunn and his team are in the process of casting the film, and pre-production kicked off last month, with costumes, set design “and more” now “up and running.” No casting has been announced yet, but that should come as soon as Gunn has found his Superman.
As for Krypto, the Kryptonian dog made his Adventure Comics debut in a 1955 Superboy story. He possesses all of Superman’s sunborn abilities, as well as super canine intelligence.
Superman: Legacy is the first film released for DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Are you excited to see Krypto in the movie!?
