As a lifelong fan of the franchise, Favreau could talk endlessly about the history of the movies and shows, but he recently decided to praise the series Star wars the battle of the clones. Speaking on the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Favreau talked about how the series has transitioned from one genre to another and said that this quality is what keeps him working on the franchise.

“Especially in The Clone Wars, they deviated in a lot of different ways [genres] — to thrillers and noirs and different kinds of adventures and different tones. So that’s what keeps us engaged and the reason I’m continuing my collaboration here, is because it’s never like I’m just doing one thing. There’s always room.”

Depending on the story you are telling Star Wars, the universe is so vast and each director has a different vision and voice, making each project feel like it could be a different genre. Favreau expressed this sentiment, saying:

“When people think of Star Wars as a genre, it’s actually a number of sub-genres within the Star Wars genre. Because those were [George Lucas’] influences, so it might feel like a western, it might feel like a WWII movie, it might feel like a samurai movie. And so you could push the limits.

I guess that’s why 46 years later, the Star Wars the universe is still expanding and moving forward in exciting ways. What show or project are you most excited to see below the Star Wars flag?
