Disney+ recently released Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, and I liked the stories and animation styles of the segments. I actually really like these Star Wars short films, and I’m so impressed with the storytelling and how these different creative teams can pack so much into these short films, they manage to make such a strong impact!

I’d like to see more from this Star Wars: Visions project, and it looks like it will happen! According to One Take News, Lucasfilm has already starred in the development of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3! I guess that means they already have a line-up of new animation studios working on these shorts, but those details have yet to be revealed.
Each of the segments created for this series features a distinct animation style and unique story set in one version of the Star Wars universe. There is no doubt that they will continue to push the boundaries of Star Wars storytelling.
The series is developed by executive producers James Waugh, Jacqui LopezAND Josh Rime. If you haven’t seen volume 2 yet, you should! It consists of nine episodes and the titles of those episodes are “Sith”, “Screecher’s Reach”, “In the Stars”, “I Am Your Mother”, “Journey to the Dark Head”, “The Spy Dancer”, “The Bandits of Golak”, “The Pit” and “Aau’s Song”.
The creators of these segments come from different studios in countries around the world including El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (UK), Studio Mir (South Korea) Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan) and Triggerfish (South Africa). It should also be noted that the short film by D’Art Shtajio was made in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd. (United States).
Waugh previously said, “The reaction to the first volume of Star Wars: Visions it swept us away. We were delighted that this project has inspired and resonated with so many people. We have always seen Star Wars: Visions as the setting for franchise celebratory expressions from some of the best creators working today. Animation is in a global renaissance and we are constantly baffled by the amount of creativity propelling the medium forward. With Volume 1, the imaginative minds of the Japanese anime industry were on full display. With Volume 2, we’ve expanded our canvas to take audiences on a global tour of some of the most talented creators from around the world. We are so proud to be able to reveal the line-up of studios we have assembled. Each short is incredible, full of heart, scope, imagination and the values that make the stories distinctly Star Wars, all while opening up bold new ways to see what a Star Wars story can be.”
