It’s interesting that Hollywood keeps trying to force this franchise on us. The first movie was Lightning in a Bottle which they will never be able to take back especially the way they continue to handle it. There have already been two sequels with Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 in 2000 and Adam Winger’S Blair Witch in 2016. None of those films did very well at the box office.
While I think there’s a fantastic way to handle this franchise, I don’t think the producers or the creative team ever will. I’ve always been interested in the Blair Witch lore, which centers around Elly Kedward, who terrorized the town of Blair, now Burkittsville, during the late 1700s and was executed for her crimes. The following year, her accusers and many of the town’s children disappeared without explanation and the town was abandoned as a result.
They’re making another one Blair Witch movies, they should tell that story!
