“I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy VOLUME 3 at the IMAX 3D theater. Boy, I can’t believe it’s already been 9 years since the first one! Always enjoy the high speed dolly shot. The first was about Peter and his mother, meeting friends more losers, and the second was about Peter and his father, the bond between the members and growing up, and this time is about the past of the rocket and the growth and future of each member. The perfect structure for the trilogy.”

It was also a perfect ending to the trilogy, and as you’ve heard, the movie packs enough emotion. You won’t leave the theater without shedding a tear… unless you have a soul.

Franchise star Chris Pratt shared his experience shooting very emotional moments in the film, saying, “Well, our subconscious doesn’t know if we’re acting or not, and I used all the techniques that a craftsman uses to create real emotion. It was, “It’s not one of those things where I couldn’t get to it emotionally and so I was pretending by acting from the outside and fixing my face in a certain way. I was really, really into it, and there’s an unpacking process to that.

She added, “Everyone goes through shitty moments in their life, and if you’re in good mental health, you’re going to compartmentalize it and put it away in a good way. But when you open it up to get somewhere, emotionally, on camera, your mind doesn’t say, “Oh, that was fake. You’re good.” You have to walk away from that, and it doesn’t go away for a while until you do the work to put it back. So, for me, that was a complicated moment, but also a complicated night after that.”

Pratt also opened up about his emotional farewell to the franchise, saying, “It was really emotional for so many reasons that it would take too long in this interview to go into. But he was just thrilling. It was a huge gratitude that James Gunn actually directed it and was able to do it. I’m just grateful that he even gave me the job to begin with.

Pratt continued, “It’s been an incredible ten years, so to wrap it up like that, it’s kind of like your last day of school when you’re in your senior year. You’re so excited that it’s over, but at the same time you don’t know if you’ll ever see any of your friends again. Some of them will go to college, some will drop out, and some will go into the military. It’s like entering a new phase and a new chapter in your life. It’s the turning of the page.”

At Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 “Our beloved band of misfits look a little different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe and protect one of their own. A mission that, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters May 5. You only have one day left! In the meantime, check out my review for the Marvel Movie if you haven’t already.
