Last year, the project was confirmed by the president and CEO of The CW Marco Pedowitz, saying, “It’s very much in active development, I spoke to Straczynski personally when we picked up the pilot. I’m a big fan of Babylon 5, personally, I’ve seen every episode of the series. I’ve known Joe for a long, long time. I’d love to bring that story back in some shape or form, I think it’s perfect for the CW.
Straczynski also offered the following update: “Calling the [reboot] pilot “a damn good script,” he said he was taking the very unusual step of carrying the project and pilot script into the next year, keeping B5 in active development while the dust settles on the [prospective] sale of the CW. Why, it’s a nifty new variation of the #Babylon5 logo. It can’t be for reimagining because it’s pending WGA issues, so what could it ‘maybe’ be for? Hmm. Maybe ne We’ll know more in a week. Spread the word: something ‘wonderful’ is on its way.”
Well, it will be really interesting to see what that turns out to be! As a fan of this series, I’m thrilled! It must be some kind of Babylon 5 news! We’ll just have to wait and see.
