A new behind-the-scenes featurette has been released from Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of The little Mermaid. The film is the protagonist Halle Bailey in the lead role of the mermaid Ariel; Daveed Diggs like Sebastian’s voice; Jacopo Tremblay like Flounder’s voice; Awkwafina like Scuttle’s voice; Jonah Hauer-King like Eric; Malik art; Name Dumezweni as Queen Selina; plus the Academy Award Javier Bardem as King Triton; AND Melissa McCarthy like Ursula.

Mark Hamill and his Return of the Jedi helix lightsaber reunite in Pop Culture Quest Clip
The clip features Bailey recording some of the songs, as well as short interviews with the composers Alan Menken AND Lin Manuel Miranda talking about making music for the film, and Melissa McCarthy touching the portrait of the sea witch, Ursula.
There are short shots of iconic scenes we know from the original, which I can’t wait to see adapted into real life on screen! This makes me even more excited for The little Mermaid, which hits theaters May 26. Check it out below:
