During the development of Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumaniathere was a point where the creative team was trying to kill Michele Douglas’ character Hank Pym. That was the initial direction his story arc would go in until the Marvel Studios executive decided to shut that idea down.

The screenwriter of the film, Jeff Love, is the one who shared this little curiosity and explained how after Hank’s death, his conscience would survive. He would continue to exist in a bizarre way. The writer explained in an interview with Backstory Magazine:
“At some point we would have killed Hank, and I would have revived him. His consciousness would have lived through the ants, and he would have mind controlled them. Yeah, it was going to be almost like this hive mind of the ants, and I like it.. .didn’t go too far.
Yes, that would have been an interesting direction to take the Hank Pym story! Loveness also shared another moment she wanted to include in the film, which involved the introduction of a man-sized ant during one of the film’s most intense moments. She shared:
“Was there a psychological sequence to that storm of probability, or that quantum nexus, there was more of a dream sequence element. I had like a big man-sized ant that would be almost like a ninja turtle, the il the way they looked in that 90s movie, not CGI, made him almost like an ant like Cronenberg’s “The Fly” And it was like in his head. I wanted him to be voiced by Werner Herzog and give him some sort of mountain sacred some kind of advice, a Vision Quest thing.
That would have added a little more weird fun to the movie! It’s interesting to hear about ideas like this that never make it into the movies!
