Rhetty for History, a nostalgic listmaker, recently looked back on the candy and candy bars that were discontinued in the past century. It’s fascinating to take a trip down memory lane and remember the sweets that were part of our childhood.
Some candies have stood the test of time and are still widely available, like Hershey’s Milk Chocolate and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. However, there are many candies that have long disappeared and been forgotten by most people. Do you remember the Marathon bar? It was a woven caramel and chocolate bar that was quite popular in the 70s and 80s, but disappeared in the early 90s. Another candy that has been discontinued is the Reggie Bar, a candy bar named after baseball legend Reggie Jackson.
Some of the others included Hershey’s S’mores, PB Max, Nestle Alpine White, Seven Up, Bonkers, Rally, then there was the Chicken Dinner candy bar and more! You can see them all in the video.
It’s a lot of fun to look back on the candy that was discontinued. While some of them have been forgotten, others are still fondly remembered by those who enjoyed them in their heyday.
There’s a lot of candy here that I’ve never tried and would be interested in!
