Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a fun fantasy adventure film that the whole family can enjoy! I had a lot of fun watching it and thought the story and characters had a very similar feel to it Indiana Jones. Well, it turns out the directors Jonathan Goldstein AND John Francis Daley they were very inspired by the Indiana Jones film during the making of the film!

The filmmakers shared in an interview with /Film how they were trying to capture the appeal of the Indiana Jones movies and use those personality traits in their own characters. They wanted the film to feature a sympathetic band of misfit characters who never have all the right answers in a story where anything can and will go wrong. Goldstein said:
This is one hundred percent the kind of influence that is in our DNA when we make movies. The idea that yes, you are in a high adventure fantasy film, but the characters are flawed. Except maybe the Xenk character that Rege[-Jean Page] play, they are very imperfect.”
I think they did a great job of pulling it off! I noticed that stuff while watching the movie, and it worked! This is a fun popcorn movie that fans will enjoy. It takes the audience on a fun and thrilling adventure, and all the characters are fun! It really looked like a Dungeons & Dragons history! Speaking of telling that story, Daley said:
“I think there’s something extraordinarily chaotic about the storytelling of a campaign that we’ve alluded to in this film where the plans that you think, as an audience, our characters are carrying out, when they go wrong and have to change direction many times, it’s not necessarily what you would expect from a normal narrative structure.
“Some might think it makes it look like it’s all over the place, but for us, that sense of chaos and mayhem is exactly what makes it so fun. because you have no idea what to expect.”
Exactly! I hope this movie is successful because I would love to see more!
In the film, “A handsome thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic heist to recover a lost relic, but things go dangerously wrong when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary RPG to the big screen in an exhilarating, action-packed adventure.
The film will hit theaters on March 31, 2023!
