‘Forever’ then and now

‘Ever After’ turns 25! The film officially celebrates its 25th anniversary on July 31st. “Ever After” hit theaters in 1998 and instantly became a millennial classic. Drew Barrymore plays Danielle (“Cinderella of Ever After”), a young woman in 16th-century France forced into servitude after the death of her beloved father. Danielle’s evil stepmother Rodmilla treats her horribly. Danielle’s life takes a turn when she meets the handsome Prince Harry.

In addition to Drew, “Ever After” also stars Anjelica Houston, Dougray Scott, Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds. In honor of the anniversary, Drew invited Melanie and Megan to “The Drew Barrymore Show” in March 2023. They dressed up as their characters, with Drew recreating Danielle’s stunning fancy dress, on the show. Even after all these years, the love between the cast of ‘Ever After’ is still there. Drew Barrymore plays Danielle de Barbarac, the Cinderella of “Ever After”. In the years following the film, Drew starred in countless hits such as ‘Charlie’s Angels’, ‘I’ve Never Been Kissed’, ’50 First Dates’ and others. He currently hosts his own daytime talk show ˜The Drew Barrymore Show’.

Dougray Scott played handsome Prince Harry. He went on to star in ‘Mission: Impossible 2’, ‘My Week with Marilyn’ and more. The Scottish actor was also a regular in the first two seasons of ‘Batwoman’.

Angelica Houston

The legendary Anjelica Houston played Baroness Rodmilla, Danielle’s wicked stepmother. Anjelica has had a legendary career in Hollywood. Since ‘Ever After’, the Oscar winner has starred in ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’, ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’, the ‘Smash’ series and more.

Melanie Lynskey

Melanie Lynskey

Melanie Lynskey starred as Jacqueline de Ghent, Danielle’s good-natured stepsister. Melanie has acted in movies like ˜Coyote Ugly’, ˜Sweet Home Alabama’ and ˜Don’t Look Up’. The Emmy nominee currently stars in the Showtime hit series ‘Yellowjackets.’

Megan Dodds played Marguerite of Ghent, Danielle’s evil stepsister. Since ‘Ever After’, Megan has had major roles in ‘CSI: NY’, ‘Spooks’ and more. Most recently, she played Andrea Walters in the Apple TV+ series “For All Mankind.”
