A new trailer and poster for the charming romantic comedy has been released What does love have to do with this?starring the Emmy winner Lily James (Child driver, Pam & Tommy), Shazad latif (Star Trek: Discovery), Shabana Azmi (halo), winner of the Academy Award Emma Thompson (Current love, Matilda), Sajal Ali (Yakeen Ka Safar), Asim Chaudry (Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), Jeff Mirza (Eternalslisten) and Pakistani singer Rahat Fatah Ali Khan as himself.
The film is directed by Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth) from a script written by Jemima Khan.
Here is the synopsis of the film:
How do you find lasting love in today’s world? For documentary maker and dating app aficionado Zoe (Lily James), swiping right only produced an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs, much to the dismay of her eccentric mother Cath (Emma Thompson). For Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents’ lead and opt for an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage to a brilliant and beautiful bride from Pakistan . As Zoe films her promising journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger chosen by her parents, she begins to wonder if she might have anything to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.
