‘Elvis’ Clip Sees Austin Butler’s Rocker Transform From ‘Skinny Kid’ to ‘Superhero’

Warner Bros. released a new clip from their musical drama yesterday Elvis It’s about the rock and roll icon of the same name, which will be released in the United States on June 24, following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film by Oscar-nominated director Buzz Lurman (secret gatsby) promises to examine the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler) through the prism of a difficult relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). It reflects the dynamic of over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom.

A clip released recently from the movie shows Parker watching trolls tell Elvis to “cut his hair” and igniting an army of passionate fans by crying with a guitar on stage. For him, this was the moment when Elvis went from “skinny kid” to a full-fledged musical “superhero”.

Elvis Also featured are Helen Thomson, Richard Roxburg, Olivia Dejong, Luke Bryce, Natasha Bassett, David Wenham, Calvin Harrison Jr., Xavier Samuel, Cody Smith-McPhee and more. Luhrmann, Sam Brommel, Craig Pierce and Jeremy Donner wrote the screenplay based on the story of Luhrmann and Donner. Luhrmann also co-produced with Catherine Martin, Gail Berman, Patrick McCormick and Schuiler Weiss.
