James Cameron has once again tasted success with his Blue Giants franchise, putting his foot on the gas so that the next installments won’t be long in coming. But new information suggests that The Walt Disney Company pushed for “Avatar 3” to come in the format of a television series, breaking up the director’s cut into several chapters.

According to insider information John Rocha, a writer for Rotten Tomatoes and The Outlaw Nation, assures that the nine hours cut ‘avatars 3’ would be released as a series, and which would also reach the Disney + platform. Allegedly, James Cameron has planned the third film in his saga as the biggest of all films so far.

THE 9 hour cutting series ‘avatars 3’ It would arrive after the theatrical release, which would have a length quite similar to the previous films. With all of this, the Oscar-winning director would prove that his universe is much larger than initially believed, and he has created stories large enough to extend his universe of fantasy and science fiction.

James Cameron has confirmed that he has a small problem with ‘avatars 3’, as it was going to be around 9 hours long, which was completely impossible to release in traditional cinemas. In any other production, they would have chosen to cut what was necessary until they had an optimal feature, but Cameron said he had much of the material ready and would work on it until he had his final version, and from there, edit it.

The story for the third part of ‘Avatar’

So far, Cameron has commented that ‘Avatar 3’ is the most important story in the saga and, to be told in all its complexity, it should be released as a series on Disney+. The plot would present a new type of Na’vi, inhabitants of the planet of Pandora who had not been seen until now, and who would be found in the volcanic area of the place.

These new Na’vi would be the people of the ashes, the variants of Pandora associated with fire, and would function as the real villains of the franchise, launching the war against our heroes. The reason why this cut exists, Jeff Sneider explains on The Hot Mic podcast, that he allegedly spoke to a reputable studio source.

“Months ago, I mentioned that James Cameron has a 9-hour cut of Avatar 3 that he wants to finish the visual effects on,” Sneider recalled. “When I mentioned that, a lot of people were wondering: why should the studio pay for this? Why should he insist on doing visual effects if he’s going to cut the film? Why pay for those finished effects? The idea is that Cameron does all the visual effects for his nine-hour cut of Avatar 3 and then releases it on Disney Plus as a miniseries after the theatrical cut is released,” he explained.
