Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) is the latest actor to join the cast of Taylor Sheridanthe upcoming western series of Bass Reeves. He will take on the role of a character named Garrett Montgomery, “a so-called posse man of the era whom Bass hires for his driving know-how and area expertise.”

Hedlund joins the previous cast David Eyelowo, Dennis Quaid, Barry Pepper, Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Shae WhighamAND Grantham Coleman.
In the series, Oyelowo plays legendary Wild West lawman Bass Reeves. Quaid plays Sherrill Lynn, a Deputy U.S. Marshal, and Pepper will play Esau Pierce, “the leader of the early Cherokee Mounted Rifles and a battle-skilled warrior himself.”
The official description reads: “Reeves was known as the greatest frontier hero in American history and was also believed to have inspired ‘The Lone Ranger.’ He worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in Indian Territory, apprehending over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being injured.
Hedlund recently completed production on the films Road of Despair opposite to Mel Gibson AND The swamp king’s daughterco-star Ben Mendelson AND Daisy Ridley.
Bass Reeves is currently filming in Texas.
