A new trailer for the documentary has been released Judy Blume foreveran author story that brought us classics like Are you there God? His books entertained us, educated us, and showed us we weren’t alone, and apparently that really pissed some people off!

Blume has faced his fair share of controversy about his outspokenness about puberty and sex in his writing. Despite this, his 29 books have sold more than 90 million copies and have been printed in 32 languages.

Davina Pardo AND Leah Wolchokthe team behind the Emmy-winning documentary Semi serious, directed and produced the project with Sara Bernstein, Justin Wilkes and Marcella Steinart of Imagine’s documentary unit. Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are also executive producers.

Longtime fans share the heartfelt letters they’ve written to Blume over the decades.

The paper serves as a story, as well as a tribute to the author, and many celebrities who grew up reading his work sit down to explain its impact. Blume herself looks back on the staggering amount of fan mail she has received over the years, noting that some have become correspondents with whom she befriended and continued to keep in touch with over many years.

I love Judy Blume. Her books meant a lot to me as a child, especially as a teenager, and still do today. I can’t wait to hear Blume’s full story.
