The new FLINTSTONES BEDROCK animated series announces the voice cast led by Elizabeth Banks

Fox is producing a new Flinstones animated series titled Bottom rockand the voice cast of the main characters has been announced.

Elizabeth Banks, which produced the series, will lead the voice cast as Pebbles, the adult daughter of Fred and Wilma. She will be joined by Stefano Root like Fred; Amy Sedaris like Wilma; Nicole Byer as Betty; Joe LoTrulio as Barney; Manny Hyacinth like Bamm-Bamm.

This is an adult primetime animated comedy series and will continue “the story of the Stone Age family, Bottom rock joins the Flintstone family two decades later, with Fred on the verge of retirement and Pebbles, 20, embarking on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a bright and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution more difficult than a swing from the Bamm-Bamm club.

Warner Bros. Animation and Fox Entertainment are producing the series and this could be a fun show. When the project was first announced Michele Spina, president of entertainment of Fox Entertainment, said: “Long before the Simpsons and Springfield, the Griffins and Quahog or even when the Belchers started serving burgers on Ocean Avenue, there were the Flintstones and the Bedrock. Their imprint on the animated universe is undeniable and the idea of adapting it for today’s audience is a challenge that we here at Fox look forward to taking on with Warner Bros., Elizabeth and Lindsay. No pressure whatsoever, really.

Peter Girardi, executive vice president of alternative programming at Warner Bros. Animation, added, “The Flintstones are the premier family of prime time entertainers. Elizabeth and Lindsay play these characters brilliantly and Fox and Brownstone are the perfect partners to bring them back to prime time. This is going to be great (sorry).”

The series is also produced by Max Handelmann AND Sam Register. Lindsay Kerns will write and co-executive produce, Lon Zimmet writes and executive produces.
