True detective Creator Nic Pizzolatto is set to develop a western drama series for Amazon and has already received a series commitment.
The untitled series revolves around “a former outlaw who must contend with a threat from his past in order to maintain the life and family he worked so hard to build.”
Pizzolatto has proven to be a great storyteller and it’s exciting to know that he will dive into the western genre. From the little we know, it seems like a generic concept, but I have no doubt that Pizzolatto and his team will develop a great story with all kinds of deep, interesting and dark layers.
This is undoubtedly Amazon’s attempt to replicate the success Paramount+ had with Taylor Sheridan Yellow stone franchise.
