While the DC Universe was plunged into undeniable chaos on the big screen, The CW, an American network specializing in teen content, hid a more than remarkably plotted tapestry of adaptations of said comedic angle. The commonly known as ‘Arrowverse’, born from the series with Stephen Amell, ‘Arrow’, to which ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ or ‘Batwoman’ would later be added, ended up being many things but within an internal coherence and connection that film projects would already like for themselves.

It is therefore not surprising that Marc Guggenheim, co-creator of the aforementioned superhero universe on the small screen, is aware of the credit he shares with, among others, Greg Berlanti; he felt he deserved at least one meeting with the new DC bosses. As mentioned by Guggenheim, to Peter Safran and James Gunn they wouldn’t be the least bit interested in the work that has been done for more than a decade in televisionat least judging by how they’re ignoring one of the creators of “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” an event that signified the crossing over of the aforementioned series. “I’m not asking for a job”Guggenheim says, “I just want a meeting, a conversation, a small acknowledgment of what I’ve tried to contribute to the great tapestry that is the DC Universe. After all, it was 9 years in that garden”.
“While working for DC has been creatively rewarding, it also brought a great deal of adversity, challenge, and personal sacrifice, none of which appear to have resulted in any professional gain.. In short, the Arrowverse has not opened the doors to any other project for me, so it seems, at least on a professional level, that I really wasted my time”adds the director in statements to Deadline.
Gods and monsters
The first chapter of the new DC order, titled ‘Gods and Monsters’, will consist of 10 projects, films and series, including highlights ‘Superman: Legacy’ and the sequel to ‘The Batman’ which will be framed within the ‘Elseworld’ label, a corner intended for projects such as ‘Joker’, more adults and developed in parallel with the main saga.
As for the new Son of Krypton movie, DC hasn’t yet confirmed its director, a director who will be in charge of bringing it to the big screen. a script signed by Gunn himself around a Superman who does not reach the age of 40. Not too many details of its storyline have surfaced at the moment, but its release date: July 11, 2025.
