It seemed to me that the series would end soon, so I’m not surprised. It’s been quite a journey, though, and I can’t wait to see how the creative team unfolds this story.

Star and producer of the series Sonequa Martin Green she said in a statement, “I can hardly believe this mind-blowing journey with Star Trek: Discovery it’s finishing. I am also deeply grateful for the creative collaboration with our showrunners Michelle Paradise and Alex Kurtzman, as well as Olatunde Osunsanmi and the incomparable team of executive producers. I’ll never forget what it felt like to be together as a family of the show, cradling the ‘Trek’ memorabilia with everyone from the franchise at large and fans. The fans took us into their hearts when we launched a new iteration of “Trek” and an entire entertainment platform, and we will never forget it. 65 episodes later, here’s to the whole company of Star Trek: Discovery, to the show and its fifth and final season, to its beloved fans and to all who envision a better future. If only one person sees themselves, or the possibilities for their future, in a new way because of Discoverythen we think we would Gene Roddenberry very proud. I would like to thank Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise, who have driven this show with heart, passion and as fans themselves with vivid storytelling, always ready to push the envelope like those before them. And finally, I’d like to thank this talented cast, led by the brilliant Sonequa Martin-Green, whose leadership both on and off screen has helped lead the way since day one.

As for what we can expect from the series’ fifth season, it has been said that season five “will find Captain Burnham (Martin-Green) and the crew of the USS Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure.” across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. Martin-Green is joined in the series by Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala, Blu del BarrioAND Callum Keith Rennie. The show was the Star Trek flagship series since it launched in 2017. Since then we have gotten shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worldswhich is currently preparing its second season and Star Trek: Picardwhich is about to end with the third season. Both of these shows are great!

It will be interesting to see what kind of Star Trek project comes next! In the meantime, I’m very excited about the return of Strange new worlds!
