The new DC Universe still has a long way to go in the coming years, and after the premiere of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, James Gunn will be putting it into second gear to get started with EUDC plans. Now, the director of DC Studios has called on the creators of many of the most acclaimed superhero series, such as ‘Daredevil’, ‘Moon Knight’ and ‘Watchmen’, to work with him.
In a panel discussion on the first chapter of the new EUDC, known as “Gods & Monsters” (via io9), James Gunn brought in new creatives to build the new DC Universe: “Tom King has been my partner through all of this. He was giving me answers about all of this before I took the job. So there’s me, him, Christal Henry, who worked on Watchmen and is doing Waller; Christina Hodson, who wrote The Flash. Drew Goddard, who you probably know. Jeremy Slater, who just did Moon Knight. That group of people that we met with and, you know, we’re putting it all together.”
As some may know, Drew Goddard was the creator of ‘Reckless’ on Netflix, one of the most acclaimed Marvel series, as well as Jeremy Slater’s “Moon Knight”, and which was also one of the MCU programs that received critical acclaim. In addition to Christal Henry, the screenwriter of HBO’s “Watchmen”, another of the adaptations that has excellent ratings on several portals.
As you can see, James Gunn has called together the greatest experts in the world of comics to develop the future of the DC Universe. So he wants to make sure that the comics that he has recently named as his main influences, such as “All Star Superman” or Grant Morrison’s Batman, are best translated on the big screen or on the HBO Max platform.

The new creative minds of the DC universe
Now that Tom King, Christal Henry, Drew Goddard and Jeremy Slater are working on the new DC Universe, the productions under the DC Studios label aim for a higher level of quality. The good news is that Gunn seems to be concentrating on scripts and stories, and hopefully a good director is in charge of translating that into cinematic language.
‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ is one of EUDC’s series of the future, based on the comic book by Tom King, who has joined the ranks of DC Studios and who is also one of the most respected modern writers within the industry. Even if there is no mention of which projects they will work on specifically, having these names in the company is already a sign of quality.
To see the result of the work of King, Henry, Goddard and Slater in the DC Extended Universe, it will be some time, or perhaps a few years, before the first DC Studios productions after the reboot of ‘The Flash’ begin to see themselves reflected So c ‘is still a long time ahead.
