After Tony Stark in Marvel, Sherlock Holmes is the most famous and beloved character of Robert Downey Jr’s career. And for many years, fans have been asking for the third film in the series, and although Guy Ritchie, the film’s director, is open to the possibility, the decision to make it is completely up to its protagonist.
In an interview with Collider, director Guy Ritchie confirmed that “Sherlock Holmes 3′ not a priority in his career, because right now he is dedicating himself to other productions, and this franchise is not in his closest horizon. But he says the chances of seeing the greatest detective of all time back on the big screen rest solely on his leading man.
The manager says soSherlock Holmes 3′ depends on Robert Downey Jr.: “Honestly, I left it to Robert. Robert wanted to be responsible for this. The ball is in his court, so he is responsible for the script, he is responsible for everything. I’ve stayed away from it until there’s a time for me to get involved,” Guy Ritchie said in the interview.
The third part of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ had problems in its production, which had to be suspended on several occasions. But last year, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Robert Downey Jr.’s production company Team Downey was developing two series for HBO Max within this same universe, and that they would be in the early stages of development.
