20th Century Studios and Hulu have released the trailer for their upcoming serial killer crime thriller Boston Strangler, which is obviously based on the infamous serial killer “Boston Strangler” from the 60s. The film centers on two women who helped uncover one of the most notorious serial killers in history.

I like a good crime film and this one seems to tell an interesting story. While I know the Boston Strangler, I don’t know the story this film will tell.
The film is the protagonist Keira Knightley AND Carrie Coon. Knightley plays Loretta McLaughlin, “a reporter for the Record-American newspaper, who becomes the first reporter to connect the Boston Strangler murders. As the mysterious killer claims more and more victims than her, Loretta tries to continue her investigation together with colleague and confidante Jean Cole (Coon), but the two find themselves hampered by the rampant sexism of the time. However, McLaughlin and Cole bravely pursue the story at great personal risk, risking their own lives in their quest to uncover the truth.
Boston Strangler was written and directed by Matt Ruskin, director of the films Booster, The Hip Hop Project and Crown Heights. The cast also includes Alexander Nivola, Chris Cooper, David Dastmalchian, Robert John Burke, Morgan SpectorAND Bill Field.
20th Century Studio will release The Boston Strangler on Hulu on March 17, 2023.
