One of those children was played by Lucas Grant, whose mother recently shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s set. Those photos reveal that he was playing Hope Van Dyne’s son in the film. There is also a photo of Hope smiling and holding two small children, and the other was a young girl. The photos came with the following note:
Last year Lucas had the incredible experience of working on his first film… and a Marvel film at that! He played the Wasp / Hope’s son in Antman & The Wasp Quantumania, and had so much fun working with Evangeline (the sweetest human being on earth!). Peyton the director is also incredibly nice and Lucas had a blast working with everyone on the film!
Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, the plot was changed after filming and its scenes did not make it into the final version of the film.
There are no details on how these filmed scenes would have woven into the story. There is no indication in the film that Hope fathered any children. But one thing you will notice in the photos is that Hope has long hair. So, these scenes could have been set in the future or in an alternate timeline where she has children.
Kang could have shown Scott a vision of a possible timeline or a future where he and Hope have children. I have no idea, but I’m sure we’ll have answers to this one day. In the meantime, let us know what you think.
