Eli Rot is in the process of launching its upcoming Thanksgiving horror movies and Patrick Dempsey is in talks to take on the lead role. This would be a very different and interesting film for Dempsey to star in, and I hope he takes it. It’s one of those kinds of movies that could make a fun career change for him.
The film is based on the trailer which is part of 2007 grindhouse double feature film that Roth made with Quentin Tarantino. This is sure to be a crazed, gory film about a slasher who “makes his carving board with the residents of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss during annual turkey day.”
The rest of the ensemble cast will include a handful of rising stars. According to Deadline, “Roth wanted a face front and center and thought Dempsey would be perfect since it’s not the typical role you usually see the former Grey’s Anatomy star in.”
Spyglass Media is producing the film and the screenplay was written by Jeff Rendel. Roth will begin shooting the film in March.
