The Oscars are approaching and with them the 2023 awards season comes to a close. That is why now producers and the industry are starting to keep an eye out for new titles to come. And one of the most anticipated this year is ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, the new film by Martin Scorsese, which has already confirmed its official duration.
According to information from ShowBiz, ‘The flower moon killers’ will have a duration similar to ‘The Irish’, the previous film by Martin Scorsese, produced by Netflix, and which once again brought together great Hollywood actors such as Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino, who were rejuvenated using digital technology on their faces.
The report mentions itThe flower moon killers’ could compete in Cannes if they reduce its final duration, that is 3 hours and 20 minutes. That’s according to Apple TV Production, which is barely in post-production. While these are Martin Scorsese’s plans, the festival can’t schedule a film that long, so they’re waiting for an answer.
It should be noted that although the festival manages to reduce its final duration, to two and a half hours, as stipulated, ‘The flower moon killers’ you can keep your 3 hours and 20 minutes in his court reaching cinemas, and on the Apple TV + platform, thereafter. Furthermore, the production house promised Cannes that the film would have a season of traditional theatrical releases before its arrival in streaming, and in all countries.
