Scott (Paul Rudd), Cassia (kathrin newton), Have faith (Evangelina Lilli), Janet (michelle pfeiffer) and Hank (michael douglas) embark on a life-changing journey when they end up in the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania. Initially, Scott and Cassie are separated from the Pyms and cross paths with Kang (jonathan older) the conqueror. Kang threatens to kill Cassie if Scott doesn’t get his power core back and uses Pym Particles to shrink him.
Kang finds himself in this situation primarily because of Janet van Dyne. While trapped in the Quantum Realm, Kang crashed her ship right in front of her. They became close while trying to fix her ship, especially her power core, which she can use to travel through different timelines in different universes. She believes that if she helps Kang fix her boat, he will get her back to Hank and Hope.
The power core was fixed, but that all changed when Janet reinstalled it on the ship. When the core and ship reconnected with Kang, she found that she had destroyed entire worlds and timelines. Kang has never fallen by accident. He was exiled to the Quantum Realm. Once his ship was repaired, Kang would once again wreak havoc.
Janet refused to let Kang leave the Quantum Realm. She took the core and enlarged it using her own Pym disks so that she couldn’t use it. She spent years running away from Kang until he was rescued.
AS Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania ends
In the present day, Scott is forced to accept what Kang wants because Cassie’s life is in danger. Scott travels to the center of the enlarged core, but finds himself trapped in a probability where he encounters thousands of different versions of himself. Luckily, Hope helps him out. I am able to shrink the core.
Kang gets his hands on the core and doesn’t return Cassie. This angers Scott as they had a deal. Kang claims he knows “how it all…everything ends”. He wants to “burn the destroyed world and create a new one”.

Kang also reveals to Janet his plan for revenge once he can power his ship with the core. Scott, Hope and Cassie battle the army and Kang’s minions. Hank enters to save with his army of ants as Kang joins the fight. When Kang is despondent, Janet tells her family that they have only one chance to open a portal back to their world. Janet, Hank, Cassie and Hope walk by, but Scott is stopped by Kang.
Scott and Kang have a brutal fight. Hope returns to the Quantum Realm to rescue Scott and defeat Kang once and for all. They destroy the core and Kang is killed in the process. This Kang, at least.
Cassie manages to open a second portal that takes Scott and Hope home. The film ends with Scott celebrating Cassie’s fake birthday with her family. Even though he was supposed to be on the moon, Scott can’t stop thinking about what Kang told him, that they would all die if he didn’t leave. Scott certainly has his doubts, but he chooses to ignore any doubts he has about Kang.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania post-credits scenes
The first scene after the credits proves that Scott should have been very, very worried. While the “exiled” Kang is dead, there are hundreds (if not thousands) of other Kang variants. These versions of Kang called all variants to assemble. A variant of Kang realizes that others are “starting to touch the multiverse” and cannot allow that to happen.
The second scene after the credits shows Loki and Mobius traveling through time. They come across a man who plays Victor Timely, but he’s clearly another variant of Kang. “It’s him,” Loki says, recognizing Kang (aka the one who stays). This means that this Kang variant will likely appear in Loki season 2. As the credits roll, “Kang Will Return” flashes across the screen.
