In honor of Disney’s 100th anniversary, a new live-action trailer Mermaid was released on February 15th. by Melissa McCarthy the magnificent Ursula is seen for the first time. She shows her laughter (and her tentacle) in the final moments of the footage. by Halle Bailey Ariel also sings “Part of Your World” and we take a look at the iconic kiss scene between Ariel and Prince Eric.
The cast includes Jonah Hauer King like handsome prince Eric, e Javier Bardem Like King Triton. Voice actors include daveed diggs like Sebastian, Jacob trembles such as flounder, e awkwafina like Scuttle.
The latest footage comes 5 months after the first trailer for the live-action film. The stunning first look was revealed at the D23 Expo and featured Halle singing the iconic ‘Part of Your World’. The trailer has been viewed more than 26 million times since its release.
Halle’s voice is truly amazing, as seen in the trailer and with her own music. Daveed spoke EXCLUSIVELY with hollywood life in 2021 on Halle as the new Ariel. “I think Halle is the perfect choice for Ariel…everyone will fall in love with her right away,” Daveed said. “She is so, so good. Her voice is out of this world. The stuff that she can do vocally is amazing, I’ve never heard anything like it.”
Halle has received praise from Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in the 1989 Disney animated film “Halle, you were absolutely amazing!” Jodi wrote on Instagram in Sept. 2022, according to the Los Angeles Times. “I’m SO proud of you… it was wonderful to celebrate with your family here at #d23expo.” Halle replied: “Thank you so much @JodiBenson. This means that the world for me comes from you! You made Ariel magical for us.
Disney’s animated film kicked off the Disney Renaissance, leading to The beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdinand more. The little Mermaid it grossed over $235 million at the box office. The film won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
The live action version of The little Mermaid is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023. The film will cause quite a stir on Memorial Day weekend. The film will hit theaters on May 26, 2023.
