Sounds interesting and like it could be fun. I know I’m a little hesitant because it sounds like a cool idea to me, but then again I’m not sure if he’s delivering that coolness in the trailer. Talking to some friends, they pointed out some areas of disappointment to them and animation is a theme that has popped up a couple of times. The film obviously uses RWBY extensionthe art style of and probably many of that team are involved. The art looks a lot like the recent volumes of RWBY and is certainly better than where the series started, but as I was writing this very article, I think I figured out what the deal is with the art and animation. This is a feature film and is labeled a DC animated film. Previous DC animated film projects still have killer animation JL x RWBY seems to run on the same budget as a standard episode. We expect animation from a film to be better than a series. Many times, more money and time is invested in a film to allow for this. JL x RWBY but it doesn’t seem to do it at all and therefore creates a feeling of cheapness, lack of investment and lack of epicness. It should look better with better lighting, more detail, smoother movement, etc.
JL x RWBY is directed by Kerry Shawcross (RWBY extension) and is written by Meghan Fitzmartin (Justice Society: World War II). Voice cast includes Lindsey Jones, Kara Eberle, Arryn ZechAND Barbara Dunkelmann reprising their roles as Team RWBY, as well as what appears to be voice acting debuts Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) as Wonder Woman, Chandler Riggs (Walking Dead) like Superman, and Nat Wolf (The blame in our stars) as Batman. Other cast members include Ozioma Akagha (Teen Titans Go!) like Vixen, Jen Brown (Red versus blue) like Pyrrha, Tiana Camacho (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as Glynda, Aaron Dismuke (Full metal alchemist) like Oscars, Jason Douglas (Walking Dead) like Jacques, David Errigo Jr. (Ridley Jones) as The Flash/Barry Allen and Rolf, Samantha Ireland (Red versus blue) like Nora, Miles Moon (Field Field) as Jaune, Shannon McCormick (Get supporters) as Professor Ozpin, Neath Oum (RWBY: Chibi) as Lie Ren, Tara Platt (Aggretsuko) like Kali, Joan Tirado (Row of Saints) as Green Lantern, e Truly Valentine (The Cuphead Show!) as Cyborgs.
