Gkids is hosting the event and there will be two separate shows with different casts led by the talented Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi, who both play Chihiro.
The enchanted city follows 10-year-old Chihiro as she moves into a new home with her parents. After they get lost in a mysterious world and her parents are turned into pigs, the girl has to survive in the strange fantasy world full of witches, spirits and bathhouses and return to the human world.
This stage version of the play was filmed during the 2022 production at the Imperial Theater in Tokyo. It’s really beautiful and I think it will be a great experience for the fans to witness the magic and beauty of the Spirited Away stage show, which will come to life with excellent performances, puppets and special effects.
The screenplay was adapted and directed by Tony Award winner John Caird. Both productions of Spirited Away: Live on Stage will hit US theaters this spring.
