These are all things we knew would happen! Diesel has been keeping fans updated on the project over the years. But now we actually have some story details to share! The official description reads:
Furya learns that Riddick is finally returning to his homeworld, a place she barely remembers and fears may be left in ruins by the Necromongers. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than she could ever have imagined.
Diesel has previously shared the film’s tagline, which is, “Everyone wants to be a beast, until it’s time to do what real beasts do.”
Twohy said in a statement, “Our legion of fans have been asking for it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya. My partnership with Vin and One Race spanned 20 fruitful years as together we created three feature films, two video games, an anime production, and animated comics for the Internet. This new big screen event will see a return to Riddick’s home planet, where we will finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.
As you can imagine, Diesel has been incredibly busy lately with the Fast and Furious franchise, but once it’s done, he’ll be back in the Riddick universe!
