Glen Powell and Anthony Hopkins will star in Sam Raimi’s new action thriller LOCKED

Anthony Hopkins AND Top Gun: nonconformist star GlenPowell are officially joining forces as they star in the UK remake of Blocked! The film project is based on the Argentine thriller 4×4and is set to be produced by the fan favorite evil Dead Creator, Sam Raimiunder its Raimi Productions banner.

This intense character-driven thriller will be directed by Nightbooks director David Yarovsky and features a screenplay written by Michael Arlen Ross. This latest collaboration between Yarovesky and Raimi follows their successful partnership Nightbooks.

According to the logline, “Locked centers on a thief who breaks into a luxury SUV, only to realize he’s stepped into a complex and deadly trap set by a mysterious figure.”

Raimi had this to say about the project: “Dave Yarovesky has so elevated the material Nightbooks, and he was our first choice for it,” Raimi said. “The script was so good and he is such a good communicator that we were able to interest Anthony Hopkins, who for my generation is practically the greatest actor always. Glen’s character has a soul that slowly reveals itself as the film progresses. It seems like he’s just a thief, someone who doesn’t care about others, but as the film unfolds, you realize that he has a wife and child who he loves and has been wronged, and all of this experience gives him a chance to reflect back on how he treated them and how he lived his life in relation to them.

There’s a lot of great talent involved in making this film and I think it’s going to end up being a great film!

The film is produced by Zainab Azizi for Raimi Productions, in collaboration with Ara Keshishian AND Peter Jakl for ZQ Entertainment. Mariano Cohn AND Gaston Dupratthe creative force behind the original film, serve as executive producers, together Martin J. Barab.
