HBO Max has released the full trailer for its highly anticipated second season of Perry Massone! This show is so good and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in this next installment in the detective and crime series.
Season 2 “picks up months after the end of the Dodson trial. Perry (Matthew Rhys) moved off the farm, ditched the milk truck, even traded his leather jacket for an ironed suit. It’s the worst year of the Depression, and Perry and Della (Juliet Rylance) have placed the company on a safer path by pursuing civil cases instead of the tumultuous work that criminal cases involve. Unfortunately, there isn’t much work for Paul (Chris Gesso) in wills and contracts, then set up on his own. An open and closed case sweeps through the city of Los Angeles, and Perry’s quest for justice reveals that all is not always as it seems.
The series is also starring Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings, Stranger Things), Tommy Dewey (Adjustable), Paolo Racci (Metal sound), Jen Tullock (Separation), AND Shea Whighamwho appeared in the first season will also return for the next season.
Astin will play Sunny Gryce, “who embodies the American dream…by mistake. Perry and Della’s newest client, she’s a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield that’s challenging the supermarkets in town, and she’ll make sure she gets her money’s worth from her inventive new lawyers.
Dewey will play Brooks McCutcheon, “the scion of the richest oil family in Los Angeles. He is charming, connected and eager to prove himself. He constantly wonders if that self has the talent to reach the heights his father climbed to.
Raci will play Lydell McCutcheon, “a self-made power player who built Los Angeles, along with his fortune, from the city’s vast oil fields. Lydell has fathered both a lucrative empire and an ambitious son unable to command it.
Tullock plays Anita St. Pierre, “a successful screenwriter and the rare woman who has made a name for herself in a man’s world. Stylish, confident, and witty, Anita stumbles into Della’s world of hers and shows her a side of life and love she’s been missing.
Whigham, returns as Pete Strickland, “a sisterly relationship with Perry and a cheerfully saucy demeanor that wins friends and influences bridesmaids. Now that he works for the District Attorney’s Office, Strickland’s relationship with Perry will be strained as they find themselves on opposite sides of this season’s case.
