‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’: First reactions highlight, above all, Jonathan Majors

Marvel Studios’ new ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, the kickoff of stage 5 of the MCU is finally around the corner: hits theaters February 17. This Monday the 6th the film had its premiere in Los Angeles and part of the specialized press has already been able to enjoy it. Although the full reviews are embargoed, you can already read the first reactions on social networks which obviously speak of the best of the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ studio.

And I say Obviously because these first reviews are always more enthusiastic than the final ones, but even so the expectation is skyrocketing with the new Scott Lang. ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay by Jeff Loveness and stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Ant-Man and Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp respectively, Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas. Against them we find Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, a variant of the character we saw in ‘Loki’, the one who remains. The film transports us to the Quantum Realm, a universe of its own that functions as an alternate reality. Or something similar.

In general, the first reactions on Twitter are very expansive, but the fact is that everyone, even the most tepid, agrees on one thing: how good Majors is and how good a villain he is, a huge relief for Thanos. Dede Atom They directly elevate him as the best comic book villain in history and even predict an Oscar nomination for the actor in the 2024 edition, and even Movie Network’s Gil Rivera, who was a bit more critical, highlights Majors as a fearsome Kang.

“‘Quantumania’ review: A terrifying and shocking twist! Marvel is back with a WILD and fun adventure! This is not just another superhero movie, it’s one of the best sci-fi movies ever! WOW…A worthy conclusion to your journey, as you prepare for the future. Kang is the best comic book movie villain ever. Jonathan Majors will be nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars, with a good chance of winning. His performance is LEGENDARY. He is truly a conqueror. Welcome to Phase 5”.

“‘Quantumania’ risks its frivolity for a dramatic comedy visually reminiscent of “Spy Kids”. While the film lacks the charisma of previous installments, the conflict ultimately propels the Multiverse Saga forward, spotlighting Jonathan Majors as a fearsome Kang.”

“‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU with great help from Jonathan Majors as the deadly villain for the Multiverse Saga.”

“Peyton Reed’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is the best thing the MCU has done since ‘Avengers: Endgame. The film is a psychedelic roller coaster through the Quantum Realm. offering moments of laughter, tears, heartbreaking action, and heart as the film takes it up a notch.”

“‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ tries to be many things: a family film, a blasting start to Phase 5, and the introduction of its big bad villain, but it nearly achieves none of that because the tone it shifts too much from dense to weird. Its ups and downs come from the cast doing the best with what they had.”

“‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is a visual feast full of surprises (big and small). A wild ride from start to finish. Jonathan Majors wins as Kang, the dynasty is here. Paul Rudd is adorable as always e there are two post-credits scenes!”

“’Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is a solid but overly ambitious start to the next phase of the MCU. Jonathan Majors is an absolute FORCE as Kang and the NEW KING of the Multiverse. The final battle is AWESOME, but Mi it really lacked the charm of comedy.” ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ will be released in theaters on February 17th.
