The Golden Vault is said to be associated with metallic dragons and based on one of the good-aligned outer planes. Its agents help the oppressed and the innocent when the law can’t. The motto of the organization is: “Do good, no matter what.”
Speaking of the book, senior D&D game designer and co-lead designer Amanda Hamon shared:
A secret organization called the Golden Vault sends mission briefings to its agents – the adventurers! – in the form of magical golden keys that are inserted into what looks like a banal music box. Instead of a beautiful melody, however, the music box then provides a recording with all the information adventurers need to hunt for a particular object of interest. It is up to the adventurers to carry out the reconnaissance necessary to bypass any defenses and score a legendary blow. Teamwork is key, because as is often the case in these messes, something will go wrong and creative thinking could save the day!
Co-star Chris Perkins added:
Each adventure includes two full-page maps: one that players can use to plan their heist and another that the Dungeon Master uses to lead the adventure. The player map, however, is often unreliable or incomplete.
You can pre-order your copy of Keys from the Golden Vault now from your local game store or the official D&D website. The latter offers a digital/physical bundle that gives you early access to the digital version on D&D Beyond starting February 7th. The book will launch on February 21 in North America and March 24 in the UK/EMEA. The main cover is by Anna Podedworna while an alternate cover will contain art by Simen Mayer and be available exclusively through your local game stores.
