THE Yellowstone prequel series 1923 has been officially renewed for Season 2! This story that Taylor Sheridan wanted to tell is so big that it had to be divided into two seasons. I’m a big fan of Yellowstone franchise and 1923 is a great show!
The series focuses on “the next two generations of the Dutton family as they struggle to survive a historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle rustling; all fought under the cloud of the Great Depression in Montana, which preceded the nation by nearly a decade.
The story also focuses on the “construction of the sprawling Yellowstone ranch in Montana, the series also filmed in South Africa, Tanzania and Malta, to give an idea of the scope of the saga”.
With 1883 only getting one season, I’m happy to see 1923 get two. The series is the protagonist Harrison Ford AND Elena Mirren and when it premiered, it was the most-watched Paramount+ premiere ever with 7.4 million total viewers on Paramount+ and linear premieres.
The cast for 1923 which is led by Ford as Jacob Dutton and Mirren as Cara Dutton, also includes James Badge Dale, Robert Patrick. Brandon Sklenar, Sebastian Roché, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, AND Giulia Schlaepfer.
