Finally we have the first data on the new DC Universe of James Gunn and Peter Safran. The two presidents of DC Studios have unveiled the first ten projects that will make up Chapter 1 of the franchise, which they have entitled ‘Gods and Monsters’. According to Safran, all of these movies and series will be included in the same universe, but the multiverse will be something that exists within the saga.
Two major theater projects will be charged with leading this new era of DC. James Gunn himself will be in charge of signing the script of “Superman: Legacy”, the new Kryptonian filmwhich is described as a story in which Clark Kent will face the duality of his alien origin and his life as an earthling, and which will also have to adapt to a reality in which “kindness is a thing of the past”. Safran does not lose hope that James Gunn will also be encouraged to direct. The film does not yet have a protagonist, but has a release date: July 11, 2025.

On the other hand, they have also set a date for the currently titled ‘The Batman’ sequel ‘The Batman 2’, which will become one of the members of the ‘Elseworld’ label, intended for projects like ‘Joker’ that will have a more adult character than the main saga. In “The Batman 2” we will see Robert Pattinson again as Bruce Wayne, with Matt Reeves directing. Its release date has been set for October 3, 2025.
