Halle Berry signs with Range Media partners

EXCLUSIVE: Range Media Partners has signed legendary actress, producer and director Halle Berry, who to date is the only black woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress.

The pioneer won the award for her performance opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the 2001 drama directed by Marc Forster monster ballHer role also earned her Best Actress awards from the Berlin Film Festival, the Screen Actors Guild, and the National Board of Review.

Over the course of her more than three decades in Hollywood, Berry has appeared in major franchises such as: X men, king man, John Wick and James BondWork with a who’s who of talent as featured in films of every genre imaginable – from thrillers like Gothic, Complete stranger and The vocationto dramas like Things we throw into the fireScience fiction epics like the Wachowskis cloud Atlasaction comedy included The Last Boy Scoutand romantic comedies like boomerang with Eddie Murphy.

Other notable film credits include kings with Daniel Craig, Bullworth with Warren Beatty, Isaiah lost to Jessica Lange, executive decision with Kurt Russell, the live version of The flints of universal, Pure businessand swordfish with John Travolta and Hugh Jackman.

While Berry is best known for her work on the film side, her television endeavors have also been recognized with top honors, most recently Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work in the Oprah Winfrey-produced ABC television movie. Berry recently made her directorial debut with the Netflix drama hurt, which charted at No. 1 in its first week in the US, while also charting at No. 2 on the top 10 worldwide English-language film chart and peaking at No. 1 in a total of 21 countries. In the film, in which she also stars, she played Jackie Justice, a disgraced MMA fighter who must fight a rising star in the sport as she embarks on a journey to become the mother her child deserves.

Berry will next star in two Netflix films, stemming from a multi-picture deal the streamer later signed hurt‘s success, in November 2021: the action thriller The Union (previously titled Our man from Jersey) with Mark Wahlberg and JK Simmons and the sci-fi adventure The Mothership by writer-director Matt Charman.

The multiple streak is known outside of film and television for her work with a number of organizations in the philanthropic arena, serving women and children and underserved communities. Berry is an active supporter and president of the Los Angeles Jenesse Center, an organization founded in 1980 to help victims of domestic violence and change the patterns of abuse in the lives of women and children. Other organizations she has supported include Love Our Children USA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Stand Up to Cancer and Black Lives Matter to name a few.
