Six new actors have joined the cast of the Oscar nominee Ava DuVernaythe upcoming movie Caste. They include Niecy Nash-Betts (The Rookie: Feds, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), Jon Bernthal (The Dead man Walking, The Punisher), Vera Farmiga (The departure, Bates Motel), Nick Offerman (Parks and Amusement, The Last of Us), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Hamilton, Blindspotting) And Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, Wonder Woman).
The film is inspired by the Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson’S Caste: the origins of our discontent. Described in The New York Times as “an instant American classic and almost certainly the premier nonfiction book of the American century thus far,” the book—and later DuVernay’s film—examines the system of hierarchy that has shaped America.
DuVernay writes, directs and produces the film with his longtime ARRAY Filmworks collaborator, Paul Garnes (Selma, In the middle of nowhere). Caste it is currently in production in Georgia.
