‘Creed III’ Fights Are Influenced By Anime, Says Michael B. Jordan – Prime Video (Courtesy)
Who would have believed that Michael B. Jordan would be watching the anime for one of the most important fighting franchises in cinematic history. The truth is that it happened, and the actor who will make his directorial debut with ‘Creed III’ has stated that the third part of the spin-off ‘Rocky’ will have a great influence from Japanese animations for the fist fight scenes
In an interview for Collider, Michael B. Jordan has acknowledged the influence of anime on ‘Creed III’, since, with 8 films preceding the franchise, the young actor and director wanted to look for other directions for the new story of Apollo Creed. And for that, he looked to other means of expression such as Japanese animations to give his scenes a distinctive touch.
The plaintiff claims he had to look elsewhere and the anime has been a great influence for ‘believe 3’: “It was a gift and a curse. There were eight other films before me and we shot them – you can film a boxing match in many different ways. I think being backed into a corner forced me to be more creative and really think outside the box about how to make the fights different…and I had a lot of Japanese anime influence on a lot of my fighters.”
Sadly Michael B. Jordan would not go into more detail, but has quoted in the past ‘Hajime no Ippo’ as a reference for ‘Creed III’, so we might expect a rather dramatic, yet impressive tone, visually speaking. Jordan doesn’t hide his love for anime and manga, so it will be interesting to see how those influences play out in the final version of the story.

‘Creed III’ will be the most diverse of the entire saga
You only have to see the statements and everything that happens around “Creed III” to realize that the third part of the franchise will be the most diverse of all. And is that, with the influence of the anime and the departure of Sylvester Stallone from the film saga, the story that is coming in the next installment promises to change the course of the plot.
In addition, a new enemy will also be introduced, Damien Anderson, played by Jonathan Majors, who in Marvel will be the next big enemy of the later phases, and who in this story is an old friend of Adonis, who returns to claim the visa that belongs to you.
Michael B. Jordan has confirmed that they, along with Saul “El Canelo” Álvarez, will tour the premiere of “Creed 3” and tour across Mexico and other parts of the world. Now all that remains is to wait for March 3 for the launch of the long-awaited closure of the trilogy to arrive.
