James Cameron he spent so many years developing his sequels Avatars, and over the course of that time, many people wondered if he would actually be able to pull off another epic box office hit and cross the $2 billion mark. Well, in the words of Dr. Ian Malcom “he did it, the crazy motherfucker did it”.

During the weekend, Avatar: The Way of Water officially passed the $2 billion mark and currently stands at $2.024 billion worldwide, making it the sixth highest-grossing film of all time behind Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic, Avengers: Finaleand the original Avatars. Three of the six films were directed by Cameron himself. The director just has the magic touch!
The movie is still making money, so it will be interesting to see where it ends up when it’s done with its theatrical run. It’s pretty amazing to see Cameron continue to make these films that dominate the box office.
The film is set more than a decade after the events of the first film,”Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the troubles that haunt them, how much they do to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to survive and the tragedies they endure.
The film is the protagonist Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stefano LangCliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine ClementAnd Kate Winslet. The story will be filled with exciting family drama, but it will also be filled with great action!
There are definitely more sequels on the way as well Avatars 3 is tentatively scheduled for December 20, 2024.
