Marvel is preparing to release a new four-issue limited comic series starring everyone’s favorite god of evil, Loki. Written by Dan Watters and the art of German Peralta, the series will see Loki track down a collection of ancient Norse weapons created by himself. When they are scattered across realms, including Nidavellir, Kree space, and Earth, Loki must track them down to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. He will go head-to-head with iconic Marvel villains, taunt Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and be forced to confront the dark truth within himself. It looks like it will be a fun adventure and the creators had a lot of fun making the series. Watters says:
It’s hard to say what a pleasure it is to make my Marvel debut, even more to do it with the God of Stories himself, taking him around the Marvel Universe and back… …I can’t wait for it all to come see the beauty that German art is breathing in this story we have to tell you, full of magic, danger – and if Loki can’t help it (he can’t) – a good bit of mischief.
This will mark Peralta’s Marvel debut and Loki couldn’t have been a better choice for him. In his words,
Loki is one of the most interesting characters, not only in comics, but also in mythology, and his ambiguity in all aspects of his life makes him a very interesting character for an artist… …I always say that I really like him drawing villains, but Loki has it all. He was “love at first sight” when I read the script. Dan is amazing and I’m sure he’s having a great time too. I can’t wait to draw Loki’s expressions, since there are always double intentions with him, and he will be a lot of fun to play, as well as everything related to the universe of him. Having the opportunity to draw Loki is undoubtedly a great way to start the year. It will be a road full of challenges, but I’m sure it will be a great journey.
The cover made by Rod Reis it is also very beautiful. The style of the cover is really beautiful and dreamlike, perfect for a God who makes it difficult to distinguish what is real and what is not. You can find the first number of Loki when it comes out this june.
