Here is a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming Wizarding World RPG Hogwarts Legacy, and offers fans a glimpse into the magical world of Hogwarts from the aerial perspective of a flying owl. We see familiar franchise settings like the Great Hall, characters including nearly headless Nick, a dragon, some bad guys, and it ends with the owl delivering a message to a prospective Hogwarts student.
Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to experience a new story set in the 1800s. The player character is “a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make alliances, battle dark wizards and decide the fate of the wizarding world.
The official synopsis reads:
“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You have received a belated acceptance into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student – you possess an unusual ability to sense and master Ancient Magic. Only you can decide whether to protect this secret for the good of all or give in to the temptation of more sinister magic.
In the RPG, players will have the ability to travel through familiar and new locations and can also customize their own characters. The game will be filled with magical activities like casting spells and making potions. There’s also a talent system that ties into RPG mechanics and will allow players to customize and upgrade their wizard characters.
The game comes from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. and has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC platforms.
