Gates McFadden is back as Dr. Beverly Crusher in the upcoming third season of Star Trek: Picard, and this time it’s going to kick some ass. McFadden played Crusher over the course of six seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generationand it’s so great that he’s coming back to play this character after all these years.
During an interview with The Wrap, she opened up and revealed how she felt about returning to the role in Picard and it seems like she was having a blast, saying, “First of all I love kicking ass. It was really a lot of fun. so much working on this show.”
Patrick Stewart jumped in and said he wished they had delved into the aspects of Crusher seen Picard Season 3 some time before, and McFadden said, “I tried… I always wanted to do more action. As a choreographer, I’ve done dance, fighting, I really wanted to not have a makeup kit with me while I was on the away team . I really wanted to have some things that I could use to be helpful.”
McFadden continued to speak Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner, Terry Matalasand the ideas he had for Crusher in the series: ‘I really loved Terry’s ideas and he had these ideas of where Crusher would be now. in this season.”
writer Jackson Lanzing continued to talk about the possibility of revisiting the character, saying, “We thought it was really time for her to hit the road, to find a place where she could do her own thing, to live in an investigation of her own. One One of the things I’ve always really loved about Beverly Crusher, basically, is that she’s kind of a mad scientist. The only time we ever see her really excited about anything other than motherhood is when she meets a scientist who’s a huge fan of , which he saw at that conference that time. He loves that stuff.
Season 3 also brings back Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirti), which appeared in the first season of Picard, and also featured Data (Brent Spiner). But now it will be joined by LeVar Burton how Geordi LaForg, Michael Dorn like Worf, Michele Hurd as Raffi Musician, Gates McFadden such as Beverly Crusher, e Jeri Ryan as Commander Seven of Nine.
Star Trek: Picard The third season will debut on Paramount+ on February 16.
