James Gunn says the new Superman actor won’t be revealed in DC Studios’ next announcement

Since it was announced James Gunn would write a new Superman film that would not involve Henry Cavill, fans have wondered and speculated about who would be cast as the new Man of Steel. There have been many rumors recently, but none of them are true. It’s all clickbait stuff.

One of the rumors circulating is about the Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi he was going to be the new Superman, but Gunn shut it down real quick along with all the other rumors that said:

“My thoughts are that no one has been cast as Superman yet. Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is done or nearly done, and it’s not. We’ll be announcing some things soon, but casting Superman won’t be one of them.

So while Superman is the first project to be developed at Gunn’s DC Studios, the character’s casting won’t be announced anytime soon.

The Superman story that Gunn will write will be set in Metropolis and focus on an earlier part of Superman’s life. Gunn previously stated that “Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority.” This first film will set the tone for what the rest of this new DCU will be. The greatest story ever told in multiple movies, television shows and animated projects.

I know a lot of people aren’t happy with some of the decisions Gunn has made so far, but I’m excited and curious to see what Gunn and Peter Safran Come with!
