Internal work is a fun animated comedy series for adults by Shion Takeuchi available to watch on Netflix. I’ve only seen a couple of episodes, but they were a lot of fun. I was excited when the show was renewed by Netflix for a second season. Unfortunately, Netflix had to be one of the things that makes January 2023 really suck for me: they canceled season 2 of Internal work. Takeuchi shared the news via Twitter earlier this week and fans are crushed.
I’m sorry guys, it’s true.💔#internal work pic.twitter.com/MQZJ3S7gRD

On a Change.org, more than 12 petitions were started the same day the news broke. Each petition hopes it can get attention and get Netflix to reverse the cancellation of Inside Job. Two of these petitions have gained quite a bit of popularity reaching over 25,000 signatures combined. One was made by Brooke Burnett and the other from Maddie Dehart.
I can’t help but think this is another case of an idiot executive thinking all animation is just for kids and therefore this show must have no audience. There must have been some good numbers like Internal work it was initially renewed for a second season, so I’m curious as to what led to the change. Were you a fan of Internal work? Do you think Netflix will listen at all?
