David Dastmalchian made his big Marvel debut in the former Ant man film as Kurt, a Russian ex-con in Scott Lang’s security team. Dastmalchian later reprized the role in the sequel, Ant-Man and the Waspand will come back for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania… but he will be playing a completely different character.
According to the Marvel website, Dastmalchian will not be playing Kurt in the film, instead playing a new character named Veb. There are no other details given regarding the character other than the name. It’s interesting that Dastmalchian has been recast into another role, and while there are no details on this new character that he’s playing, I’m wondering if he’s going to be a CGI creature or an alien-type character. We will eventually find out!
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania officially kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in it “superhero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangelina Lilli) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents, Hank Pym (Michele Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michael Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures, and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
Jonathan Major he’s going to take on Kang’s role, and it’s going to be pretty sinister. Kathryn Newton will take on the role of Cassie Lang, e Bill Murray even has a role in the movie!
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania is once again directed by Peyton Reed from a script written by Jeff Love. The sequel to the action-comedy superhero will be released on February 17, 2023.
