Jack Black on whether we will see a SCHOOL OF ROCK or a sequel to TENACOUS D in the future

One of the actors Black JackThe most beloved film is the 2003 comedy School of rock, which went on to inspire a Broadway musical, as well as a generation of kids to pick up instruments and rock out! The movie hits its 20th anniversary this year, and as fans will get sequels to many movie favorites decades later (Top Gun: nonconformist), some wonder if we might see another one School of rock.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM radio’s City Babs, Black and bandmate Tenacious D Kyle Gass was asked if they had plans for both Rock school 2 or a sequel to the movie Tenacious D. Nero replied:

“Yeah. Both. Breaking news. We’re thinking about doing both.”

Gass added to the quip, saying the two sequels are being made as one project, “It’s a hybrid, School of D.”

It was pointed out that School of rock he helped shape an entire generation of young musicians, to whom Black said “Thank you, that means a lot.” Whether there was any truth to Black’s statement remains to be seen Rock school 2 is moving forward, noted his responsibility to inspire people to both rock – and NOT ROCK, if they don’t have real talent:

“We strive to inspire but even we get discouraged at times even though we feel like we’ve tried and we’ve seen what you’ve done and we don’t think you should stop rocking. We do both. . But thanks for pointing out the good parts.”

It doesn’t look like there’s anything solid in the works at the moment, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes. Are you hoping for a sequel to Jack Black?
